Understanding Target Audiences
Target Audiences
A 'Target Audience' refers to the specific group of consumers that a campaign or creative is designed to reach and engage. This group is defined by identifiable characteristics such as demographics, interests, and behaviors. Identifying the right target audience is crucial for the success of a campaign, as it ensures that the message resonates with the intended recipients, maximizes the impact of the creative, and optimizes the return on investment.
Previously in ShuttlerockCloud, you had to manually enter the target audience information every time you created a new brief. We have streamlined and enhanced your experience, by allowing you to predefine set target audiences that can be easily reused in all of your briefs.
Benefits
The new target audience feature offers several benefits:
- Saves time: Predefined target audiences can be easily reused across multiple briefs, eliminating the need to manually enter the same information each time. This saves time and ensures consistency across campaigns.
- Maximizes impact: By defining the right target audience, campaigns can be tailored to resonate with the intended recipients. This maximizes the impact of the creative and increases the likelihood of a positive return on investment.
- Offers flexibility: Users can edit or delete their audience at any time and set a default target audience for all new briefs. This gives users flexibility to make changes as needed and ensures a consistent target audience across all campaigns.
Feature Overview
Creating Predefined Target Audiences
A predefined target audience can be created in two ways:
Users can create target audiences in bulk through their brand profile.
Create a new audience from the target audience question in the brief.
All audiences live under the brand (profile). If an account has multiple brands, then each brand will have its own target audiences.
Using Predefined Target Audiences in Briefs
Once a predefined target audience has been created, it can be easily applied to any new or existing draft brief at the "concept" level. If a project has multiple concepts, each concept can have a different target audience.
All predefined audiences are accessible for each concept.
Setting a Default Target Audience
Users can also define a default target audience that will be automatically applied to all new concepts within new briefs for their brand. This feature further simplifies the briefing process and ensures a consistent target audience across campaigns.
This can be done while creating a new audience, or at any other time.
Updating or Deleting Target Audiences
Users can edit or delete their audiences at any time. Changes made to an audience will apply to all concepts where it has been selected - automatically. If you delete an audience, it will remain on all concepts where it has already been selected, but cannot be re-selected once removed from a concept.
Audiences while duplicating a project
When a user duplicates a project, the selected audiences can be duplicated as well, but can be affected in certain cases:
- If each concept in the original project has a selected audience, those audiences will be copied over to the duplicated project.
- If no concept in the original project has a selected audience, but you have a default audience set, that default audience will be applied to each concept in the duplicated project.
- If no concept in the original project has a selected audience and you don't have a default audience, the audience fields in the duplicated project will be left blank.
Summary
The new target audience feature aims to enhance the user experience by offering a more efficient, consistent, and flexible way to specify target audiences in ad campaign briefs. By enabling users to create pre-defined target audiences, apply them to briefs with ease, and set a default audience, this feature will improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Shuttlerock's creative services.
